Complaint form
1–2 minutes

The blame game is very popular, although there never seems to be a winner. Why we all play so much is a mystery. Although most people would agree, complaining yields no results. We do it because it feels so good. Like a balloon letting out all its air, similarly, a person lets out all their energy by complaining.

In our minds, short term satisfaction is always waging war against the long term. The desire in the moment feels stronger because we act shortsightedly. Due to habits repeated every day, we continue doing what we have always done. Unless we make a conscious decision to change course, that is the way it will continue.

In truth, if something really bothered us, we would do something about it. Whatever is in our power to change, we must change. It should not stay forever trapped in words spoken but in actions taken. If it is not possible to change, then all we can do is change the way we react to it. We are all given a choice. Complain, or stop and do something productive about whatever it is that is bothering us.

It’s natural to complain about things, but it simply does little for us in the grand scheme of things. If we genuinely wanted to help ourselves, many of us would choose differently. Do all you can do. After that, decide to have a good attitude, even during difficult circumstances. At least then, you improve the experience itself, as crummy as it is.
